Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Skins ("Skins," "we," "us," or "our") provides a skincare app that analyzes photos of your face to give you skin scores and track changes over time. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Because Skins processes images of your face, we want to be especially clear about how that works.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use Skins.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and an authentication identifier used to sign you in. Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase.

Photos of your face. To perform a skin analysis, Skins captures photos of your face (a front image, optional side angles, and close-ups). These images are the core input to the analysis.

Skin analysis data. From your photos we generate data such as an overall skin score, per-area metrics (for example hydration, clarity, texture), and written summaries, stored so you can see your progress over time.

Skincare profile you provide. Information you enter yourself, such as your skin type, concerns, goals, allergies, and the products on your shelf (including how and when you use them).

Usage information. Basic technical information needed to operate the app, such as app version and general device information, and records of your scans.

We do not intentionally collect precise location, contacts, or payment card details within the app.

2. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your face photos to serve advertising.

3. How your photos are processed

When you run a scan, your images are sent from your device to our backend server over an encrypted connection. To produce the analysis, relevant images are also sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing. Google processes these images to return analysis results to us; we do not permit this data to be used to serve you ads.

Your images and analysis results are stored in our database (hosted by Supabase) so you can view your history and track progress. You can delete this data at any time — see "Your choices and rights" below.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Skins, and only as needed to provide the service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Data retention

We keep your account information, photos, and analysis data for as long as your account is active, so the app can show your history and progress. If you delete specific items or delete your account, the associated data is removed as described below. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your choices and rights

Delete your account and data. You can permanently delete your account from within the app (Profile → Delete account). This removes your profile, scans, skin analysis data, products, routines, and progress records from our database and deletes your authentication account. This action cannot be undone.

Access and correction. You can view and update much of your information in the app. For other requests, contact us at the email below.

Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard measures.

8. Children's privacy

Skins is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate. By using Skins, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.

10. Not medical advice

Skins provides cosmetic and informational skin insights only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For any medical concern about your skin, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
